Word of the Week
Prautes – the Greek word for gentleness; humility, meekness.
Gentleness is a characteristic of Jesus
“By the meekness and gentleness of Jesus Christ, I Paul appeal to you.” 2 Corinthians 10:1
We show the gentleness of Christ when we approach others including enemies in a humble and caring spirit, not using force to get one’s way.
And as children of God, we are to bear the fruit of gentleness:
“But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and
self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:23
